Question about early dollars and rounds

Postby JobIII » Wed Nov 03, 2010 3:04 pm

Hi all,

Stopping off at a bank to return coins today, a teller asked me if i know anything about coins. She had just bought some items at a yard sale and found in at the bottom of the purchase 8 coins in a plastic sleeve.

Heres what i remembered of the 8 i looked at:

1923
1922
188?
17??
peace dollar round (1oz .999 fine)
non-morgan CC mint date unknown

Anyways needless to say this is quite a find. The coins are all in really good condition. Does anyone know if these coins are common for replicas? I didn't see anything like that and so i'm thinking they are real. But i believe she paid next to nothing for them, because they weren't known to be in what she purchased...

I wanted to buy them but she didn't seem to be interested in selling.
