1924 D Lincoln found

Postby GGerrands » Fri Apr 25, 2014 3:24 pm

I figure this might be more of a USA numismatics thread, but I was excited and wanted to share.
Found a 1924 D lincoln cent in one of 9 remaining machine-wrapped rolls (from a box out of my regular biweekly pickup) today, while watching an episode of Kids in the Hall.
I almost put it with my pile of pre 1940 wheats, but I stopped and decided to check the red book because of the mint mark and it being from the 20s.
I wonder how this would grade with PCGS. Seems like someone here has an account with them and has taken submissions via mail to be graded. I just might do that, if I can bear to part with my "precious." :D  8-)

Picture or it didn't happen.
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

I haven't scanned anything before for this site, but I'm going to make an exception for this find and scan the coin Monday morning using some local university equipment. So stay tuned! Then folks can chime in on what grade it might be.
