Magic box

Postby GGerrands » Tue Jan 07, 2014 9:52 pm

What with the holidays and all I've had some time to sort the back catalog of pennies in boxes lying about.
This last box, immediately when I opened it, I knew it was special.
Showing 3 wheat backs and 4 dates ending with a -5x or before.
So far I've cracked open 7 rolls and not sorted through all of the box, but already found over 10 wheats. I'll update with the box totals on this fantastic mystery box soon!

About 3 dollars in wheats, plus $2.80 in copper cents. I'll take that kind of box any day of the week! Around 70 units of pre-1940, earliest date a 1910. Nothing uber-scarce, like a 1922 no d or 31 s.

Sounds like someone's widow dumped and you got at least part of it. Good find!
