one little, two little indians

Postby GGerrands » Wed Feb 20, 2013 12:52 am

Like others have said, they like to hang out together. Found a pair in a single machine-wrapped roll from one of my biweekly pickups, a 1904 and a 1907. :D

Nice. Must be coincidence I found my first ever sorting on Sunday only to find a second one a short time later from same bag of rolled pennies. Haven't sorted pennies in forever and did some for stress relief. Puts a smile on the face if only for a short time

Congrats on the indians. I have found one detcting but never in a roll. My wife found one years ago while rolling up her mothers change. I believe it was a 1904.

Nice find! It's been quite a while since I've uncovered an Indian - I'm due. :)

What target coin do you guys use? Do you use a zinc target and then skim the non-zinc pile?

I was using my eyeballs. I'm still working on my home-brew penny sorter, although the Ryedale Maxx, even at the pretty pennies of $700, is might tempting!

This was an interesting box. Found my second proof cent, a 2000 S. Also found a 1977 South Africa one cent coin like this one: Image. First one of those I've ever encountered whilst roll hunting!

Three little, four little, five little Indians can't believe I found three more Indians yesterday while hand sorting a bank bag of rolled cents.
1887, 1897 x 2, 1904 and 1907. This has been a GREAT week for me and I only just started back sorting pennies.

I'm still loving these boxes lately. Found in the same batch as the Aussie coin, a cupronickel Asian coin! Image
(1988 ten cent Singapore) identical to the one seen here.
Also, in the next box, found a badly worn 1911 D Lincoln, but I'll take it. When I see a cent from the teens with a mintmark, I get very excited.
