2013 Pennies

Nope. On a whim, I went into a Chase branch today because they were open on President's Day. I don't have an account there. I asked for a box of pennies. As I walked back to the truck, I had a sinking feeling. I opened the box and discovered a whole box of bright, shiny, new 2012 pennies. Do any of you new members want a box of these for your collection? Cost plus shipping.

And I just went by Chase at lunch and asked if I could buy some cents and they said no. But then I asked if they would trade and got $28 of CWR.

I have done the trade thing too at times when the banks say they are running too low to sell. So I tell them I happen to have approximately X # of $ worth out in the car that I could trade with them... and all of them have let me buy an equal amount to what I bring in.
Of course I avoid purchasing again from that bank for a couple of weeks till I feel my dump has probably had time to have been replaced with new ones.

Well I finally did get some 2013 pennies today! 4 rolla.. D mint. This is the earliest in the year I have ever gotten any.. so the Texas guys must be swimming in them by now.

Guess I will have to order 24 boxes from that bank on Monday.

Congrats. I still have the 2012s. It's like everybody hates one year old zinc pennies...Imagine that.

Yeah.. though at a coin show Sunday somebody asked me for 2012's.. and I hadn't even packed any. I could probably use some more P mints.. but based on where you are I am pretty sure yours are D mint.
