Just got back from Gulf Shores, Alabama area. Unlike many folks on the beach that found seashells while playing in the waves, lo and behold, I looked down to see..........(dramatic pause), something shiny turning end over end in the tide. It looked like a penny. By the time I reached down to grab it the tide had washed it away. Could it have been a 1909 VDB? I'd like to think so.

It was definitely the one that got away.
