I don't care about him either way, but that's just Mr. Berko's style - a bit condescending. He's gotta sell newspapers and making the other readers (yes, and himself) sound smart(er) helps do that. Mr. Berko is fairly good with investment advice (generally) and has some ethics. Among other things he calls out the big banks for their inappropriate (shall I say) dealings these last many years.
But obviously he does not know the cent metal composition since 1982. How many others are like him who don't really know? Wasn't that the Mint's intent? To fool most folks into thinking the cent since 1982 was/is all copper?
