On copper plated zinc cents, most of what appear to be cracks are actually plating issues. Millions every year have what appear to be cracks to the novice, or are purported to be cracks by the carnival barkers.

Unless one can identify several with the same exact shape “crack” it likely is not.

I have several copper cents with die cracks. Every zincoln I have found with similar visual issues was a long, thin, irregular plating bubble.
