Shot up 3.78% at the open it looks like, while other metals are flat. I guess the economy just got a lot better.
I thought it strange.

The holiday season was pretty robust this year, it looks like the U.S. is showing signs of strength and emerging economies are plugging along. Europe and China are experiencing difficulty, but it looks like the world economy as a whole is looking up. Could be good times ahead for copper.

Not sure how base metals preform, but historically stocks and PM see a dip the first few weeks of a new year.
