Putting a set together. What are my options??

Postby highroller4321 » Mon Feb 12, 2018 1:25 pm

I am thinking about putting a slabbed set together and am curious what options are available for storing/displaying the slabs.

There is this:

i suppose I could just leave them in the pcgs slab box, but that makes it harder to show the set to people.

Thoughts/suggestions??

How many coins are in the set? Are you sticking with one TPG? Tell me more about the collection.

Depending on how prominently you want it displayed ...

I have a friend in the FBI, and this is pretty close to how he displays his challenge coins: Amazon Link. Don't know how difficult or expensive it would be to have one custom built and/or altered to accommodate slabbed coins.

Thank you for the idea, but that is more like something to be put on the wall. I need something that can still be put in the safe.

TPG?

Third Party Graded. ie a mix of diff slab styles/ companies .....or all NGC.....or all PCGS.
I'm pretty type A. My set(s) are PCGS only. I will buy coins that I like in other slabs and work them into PCGS if it makes sense to keep set continuity.

48 coins huh? What two states are you leaving out?

Isabella quarter and Lafayette dollar. :D

Thinking about trying to get 66's on most and 65's on probably the Hawaii and a few others.

It will be PCGS only, since its U.S coins.

Commem short set....there has never been a better time. Lots of super nice material graded at super fair prices. A fun and cool set.

Ok so to answer the original question. Build the set. Keep an excel and once complete have them imaged into a nice poster to hang in your office. As for the coins themselves..... 3 PCGS boxes. Anyone that truley cares to see them will enjoy cycling through as normal.

Looks like they make an album big enough for 54 slabs.
