Today at church our pastor gave my son Franklin some note that a local pastor in Zimbabwe that our church works with sent for Franklin he picked them up on a trip to Malawi. Also a church member gave him some coins that a co-worker saved for him.

I'd be willing to bet that prior to tonite, not one in a thousand members could have told you that the currencey of Malawi
was denominated in Kwacha

reminds me of one of those old jokes.... "be careful, don't step in the Kwacha!"

I was looking up what the notes are worth in US$ and it looks like .51 cents. But you make on ave. $857 a year. So that is a lot of money.

Would you have surmised that I might be that one in a thousand guy?

At least one other place uses the kwacha. Can you name that place? And no fair googling it!
