I usually do not post my coinstar but lately the dump bins have been full. Got 76 cents at one, about $4 in another which included a Canadian $1.00 and $2.00.
Today I got 1.23 which contained 35 wheat backs. Has anyone heard or noticed if coinstar is rejecting Wheaties like it does silver?

A couple days ago I got a Roosy dime (clad) and zinc penny. 11 cents total- no good dates. This came from a Coinstar machine in a Safeway store.

What you found was evidence of a guy dying/escaping. The stupid old SOB had a 5 gallon bucket full of wheats. The coinstar rejected only 35 of them. It wasn't worth it for her to stick her bony hand in the reject tray.

Have the crappiest coinstar in my neighborhood - totally strike out 49 out of 50 times. Last find - fist silver dime EVER! Almost uncirculated 1964 just sitting in the reject tray

Not as bad as mine. I have never found any coins in the reject. I must live around the stingiest or most aware people in ohio. Lol

My son came home beaming from a shopping trip with mom:
Hey dad, guess what I found in the coinstar!!??

He got 20 nickels, 2 quarters, a dime and 7 pennies. All clean and problem free. Some patron just wasn't paying attention! My guess is some trash got stuck in front of the discriminator or in the reject lever.

Anyway, thought I'd share my boys good fortune!

Leftovers from the world traveler's visit to the Coinstar at the local Walmart...

Canada:
10 cents- 1968 (clad) and 2006
2 dollars- 1996

Eastern Caribbean States:
10 cents- 1956 and 1965 (they look like copper-nickel to me)

Italy:
200 lira- 1978, 1996 and another 1996

Sweden:
1 kroner- 1977

9 Foreign Coins Total- I'll take that... The thing that was interesting about these coins is that the person put them on the top surface of the machine where anyone could see them and nobody claimed them. There were several people standing right near the machine who didn't claim them. Oh well- more for me!

At a coinstar by me they have a small trash can in between the lottery machine and the coinstar. I wonder how many rejects get tossed in the trash can?

I talked to a longtime cashier at a local restaurant which only accepts cash. I asked if he ever gets foreign coins and he said "all the time". I asked what he does with them and he said he always throws them in the trash! Unfortunately he is too far from where I live to stop by with any regularity. Oh well...

Wife was at Wegmans the other day. I have her trained pretty well to check the Coinstar. On the way in someone was dumping change. On the way out, they were finished. The cart guy from the store beat her to the machine. He took whatever it was to the service desk.

Found a Roosevelt clad dime (circa 2009) in the Coinstar return at Walmart, but it was super heavily worn. Someone must have carried it in their pocket for a while and must have been rubbing it a lot to wear it down. It was so thin the machine wouldn't even accept it.

Yesterday at a Coinstar machine at the local Walmart...

(2) Canada 2007 1-cent
1968 Canada dime (doesn't appear to be silver- badly scratched) (I'll weigh it when I get a chance to see if it is silver- not likely though)
2000 Canada quarter (Wisdom Sagesse type)
2009 5-cent Euro coin
Also Unknown country- 2006 1 dinar- Republika Srbija (is that Serbia?)
