I'm sure I probably won't see one in this lifetime, but wondered if any of you ever happened upon one?

Relatedly, I read that the mint was still making 90% 1964 half dollars well into 1965. Was that just because they were sunsetting them or were both 40% and 90% halves being made in 1965? It would be another one of those copper 1943 cent tales with the possibility of a 90% 1965 half dollar or 40% 1964 half dollar. Probably unlikely though, huh.

That's interesting. I wonder if they just had a boat load of blanks left -- maybe some that were purchased even for the Franklins? - and were just trying to use them up on the 1964 dies? So I'm assuming all 90% silver Half Dollars struck in 1964 and 1965 were the 1964 date only using the classic 12.50 gram 90% blank. And they probably started minting the 1965 date (using the new blank) concurrently?

It mentions 1964 halves being struck in 1965, but they stopped short of saying there were any 90% silver halves dated 1965.
