Removing smudges/fingerprints

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2012 8:24 pmIf the prints haven't stained or toned the coin, acetone would remove the prints. If the print has toned, or stained the coin, a thiourea "dip" would work. Be sure to test on a coin that doesn't have any numismatic value first.
