I'm interested if anyone is doing this? What is the concensus of % of War Nickels in circulation?
.5% or less? Is it even worth it? I can set up my sorting machine to do approx 300/min.

aloneibreak, Where are you located? I guess I need to buy some boxes and run them to see.. I assume you are hand sorting?

these boxes are right in the center of the country.

i only do a box every couple months though now.

i add these to the hoard so i dont return any nickels.

yes handsorting, sorry - my thoughts are that its not worth machine sorting for such a low return.

if i wasnt hoarding anyways i wouldnt even bother searching.

Thanks, that was kind of what I was thinking......I'm in CO, so results are gonna be about the same...pretty thin!
I'll probably pick up a couple of boxes and try anyway......

I hand sort pennies and nickels on a sorting table. I find about one war nickel per $200 bag. I fly through the bag it seems and it's a lot of fun for me. Plus, I find old dates from the thirties, forties, and fifties, and maybe a buffalo nickel as well. Hand sorting is a nice way for me to relax and always puts me in a good mood.

You must be a young! Hand sorting makes my back hurt, my eyes water, and my brain mush!

I don't know of a machine that can sort out the war nicks.
