I just inventoried a nice haul of pre-82 Canadian nickels. Here are my results...

281.5# net weight of all the nickel nickels I looked at (there was about 20# of junk that I had to separate from the original mixed lot).

255 Geo. V nickels
1639 Geo. VI nickels (includes 80 1938's and 26 1948's)
30 1970's

It took almost exactly 3 days for me to look at over 30,000 coins. My back is aching and my vision is blurry!

Before buying this lot I only gone thru about 15-20# of pure nickel coins recently, including Canada, Netherlands, France and elsewhere. So this was a major chore for me.

Sweet haul, especially on the George Vs! They are hard to find. You need a Ryedale - works much better on Canadian Nickels than on any pennies. Far fewer jams in my experience.

Wow, jackpot! Fortunate to find a deal like that!

I am trying to contact Andy at Ryedale as we speak. That machine would have helped tremendously! Oh well, I can use it for my next job...
