Shipping supplies

I'm building my inventory of shipping supplies getting ready to send 68Lb care packages around the country. I've been pricing 2" strapping tape (the kind with fiberglass strips in it) and it's a bit pricey. Anyone got a favorite vendor they use for this? I'm willing to pay for quality, but not a crazy amount. Most of what I've seen is around $5-$6 a roll plus shipping. The cheapest I've found is a 24 pack for $66 on eBay.

I actually found this site shortly after posting this question. Bought six rolls of the 2" X 60 yds. ($2.50 each) for 22.28 shipped. I'll let you know what I think when I get them.

That sounds like a good price, around here I was only able to find 1" fiber tape and it was at least that much.

You have to be careful when buying some of that stuff on the internet. Some of it is just junk.. not thick enough. I usually get the 8 or 10 pack packages of 3M at Costco. It doesn't have to have the filiments in it to be good.. it just has to be thick and preferably name brand.

Make sure you're looking at how many yards are on a roll when you're comparing costs. I use industrial gummed tape with fiber reinforcements (and one of these)

But before that, I used this tape:

I still use that tape when clear is necessary. Sam's Club also sells good 3M tape (that I think made still be Made in USA).

harbor freight has good prices in simple clear tape. some of it is thin and you'll want to double up. i don't think they have filament tape.

Got my tape today. At first look it seems good. We have some crap tape at work that's used to close boxes (ULine is the distributor we get it from) and this seems a lot better than that. Will report impressions when I actually use it.
