I may have a buyer for some of my Indians cents and steel cents. How much should I ask for? I would say the have a regular amount of wear for there age and I would guess they are common years. (If there is such a thing as common Indians). I suspect the buyer is a flipper so he will want a good price but also what should I ask for as a retail price?

If the Indians have clearly readable dates and don't show too much wear and have no green on them they should be worth about a buck apiece for dates 1900 and up. If they are before 1900 they are worth more. You say you guess they are common dates. You should look through them and confirm that.

OK thank you for your advice NDFarmer. What I meant by not knowing if they were common dates or not is; is there really any such thing as a common date Indian Cent? Are Indians that common. Anyway well again thank you for your help.

certain dates of Indians are more common than others, based to mintages.

No the Indian Head coin itself is not common. But you can say that about all coins that haven't been made for 50 years they are not common. But each type of coin has common date coins. Coins that have a higher mintage and are not hard to find and buy if you want one.

Steel cents without rust = 15 cents and up for less than UNC, $1 and up for UNC. Uglies with rust, about 5 cents
Indian with "liberty" readable, 1900+, no major issues = $3 and up
Indian with full rims, no major issues, 1900+ = $1 and up
Indian with full rims, some issues, non key dates, pre 1900 = 50 cents and up
Indian with issues, 1900+ = 25 cents
Indian Culls = 10 cents
Indian with full readable "Liberty" and no major issues, pre-1900 = refer to: http://numismedia.com/fmv/prices/indcnt/pricesgd.shtml
