Well, I just found the oldest penny I have ever seen as far as I remember. It is a 1858 flying eagle. I think its real. It is pretty worn but hey.

of course, it was on the reject side with the zincs through the Ryedale.


I hope the images aren't too big...

Do you have a scanner can you post a scan/photo only a 1857 is older and then they are large cents.

so, anyone else ever find one of these pennies? Just did a bit of testing, using the 1858 coin as a accept coin, the Ryedale kicks both zincs and copper, I dont have any other flying eagle cents to test the acceptance. wonder how many coins like this people miss.

We run using a zinc as a test coin. and then a copper and the a quick look.

I just was thinking about maybe running my zinc rejects through an accept for this 1858 coin, thus trying to find any others that I didnt see visually by chance. Normal operation I run a 1980 accept then a zinc reject this the coppers for a second run.
