The Survival Bible

Last night for fun, I made a little clock that was powered by lemons with my son. While doing it, I realized that I don't know if I'd be able to create a chemical battery that could potentially charge a phone, or something more power-demanding than a tiny clock. Of course, this realization sent me down the rabbit hole of self-loathing for my own ignorance, culminating with me rocking myself in the corner while my wife tried to coax me out with chocolate.

What have you found to be the most comprehensive survival book? Hoping for something that contains the likes of basic chemistry, engineering, etc.

Thanks,
Stu

Excellent thread and have thought about this myself. Been stocking up on things myself slowly here as well.
There used to be a top 50 things that need to be saved for a "survival scenario" on herebay somewhere.

Most of the books I'm finding are more wilderness survival type stuff. Which is handy, but chances are much more likely I'd be in an urban situation. It'd be nice to have an easy reference book for how to build some basic “necessities” for survival in our modern age, as well as basic trig formulas, chemical reactions, etc.

Yea, I came across that book(s). Let me see if I can come up with a list.

It's incredible just how much I can find online, but I can't seem to find anything in book form. I might have to resort to cobbling something together on my own... which is antithetical to my general laziness.
