I see they can be bought from different sources. Is it worth it to have them?

I toyed with the idea (pre-pandemic) and still might someday, but I started to think that while they're really great prestige pieces, unloading them wouldn't be as easy as PMs.

Saw a really nice graded $500 FRN at a coin show last year for about $2k and if I had brought that much $$ with me, I might have pulled the trigger.

Yep, those college bills are creeping toward me like the Black Death.

In the mid-90's large notes were still affordable. I bought a $1000 note (a real crisp AU) for, I think $1400 or maybe $1600. Last time I looked those were 4 grand.

I had it sandwiched between two plexi sheets in a currency display holder. It looked cool on the desk for a couple years. Probably sold it one lean winter.
