Hia, forum!
Well, I love to sort pennies, but occasionally I'll find a Canadian cent (well every couple rolls actually). I like these but i don't know which ones are copper or not. I have at least 3 rolls now of mixed dates. Anyone know the date for copper or any interesting facts i should now?

Thanks,
Coppergames

The Canadian pennies are copper until 1996. However the RCM reduced their size in the early 80s so they are a little smaller than their American counterparts.

They are 98% copper instead of the 95% in the USA.

Send back to the bank the 1997-present steel and zinc coins.
keep 1960-1996 for copper
keep anything older than 1960 for collector

few interesting variety that you can put aside with collector :
2006 P (rare very low mintage of 233'000)
1985 with the pointed 5
1965 have 4 variety, 2 of them worth it, hard to know which one you have
every other collectible variety are older than 1960
