Aluminum windows

Has anyone ever scrapped aluminum windows? I've been removing the glass, metal screws, plastic and weather stripping from the extruded aluminum. It's a royal pain in the bottom. Has anyone ever sold aluminum windows with the glass still in them? What kind of price did you get? Thanks.

I stopped picking them up if the glass intact. For sliding doors I just take the tracks and leave the door with alum still on it. If you could get dirty alum price I would do that as the glass is heavy...

+1

Not worth the, time/hassle/danger of getting cut/price of dumping the glass, unless you can bust the glass out and leave it on site.

Depends on how hardcore you are I have busted the glass but Cincinnati had free trash removal so a couple pounds of glass was not a big deal - a perfectly good window could be taken to Habitat Re-Store if you are so inclined they sell it (like the Goodwill of hardware) and use the funds to help build houses for the working poor.

Aluminum window screens are easy enough to cut the steel screen away, same with screen doors.
