Coin return slots are ALWAYS empty here. But we were visiting the in-laws over Thanksgiving, and got 28c at one coinstar. That same night, I found exactly 28c again in the parking lot of a movie theater!

I did not find anything in the reject bin but I did leave 3 nasty, corroded, missing metal zinc pennies in the reject bin of the coinstar after dumping $75 today for Amazon certificates for lights on my new garage. These pennies are the type that you run through 5 times and they still get rejected. Somebody will reach in there and think they hit the jackpot.
The last batch of about 8 of them I put in my scrap steel bucket.

I have been telling my wife for a couple of years to check the coin stars. She complains that she never finds anything. Yesterday she came back from the store and gave me a handful of change:
1 dime
1 1961 canadian nickel
1 2006 canadian nickel
2 copper canadian pennier
9 LMC
1 1940 wheat penny
Said there was money in it on the way in and on the way out the the 1961 was in it, so she checked it twice and scored twice.
Way to go baby!!!

Found a 1974 quarter as I was dumping about $20 in pennies. Tossed the quarter in with the pennies. Then I filled up the machine! Had to pay the 9.8% fee!
Had a penny roll under the machine. When I went to retrieve it, found a bunch of loose change. I was able to get back my penny plus $1.35, including 3 copper pennies!
Time to look under the Coinstar each time I dump some pennies.

Based on Bookshelf's post I looked under the coinstar machine today and found a dime.
I left a nasty corroded zinc in the reject tray for the next guy. I put it through 5 times and it got rejected.
