At credit union coin counter dumping non silver nickels and dimes and grabbed $1.42 US in coin in reject tray. 1 Susan B Anthony dollar, beat up quarter, dime, nickel, 2 zinc pennies. Also got 1 Canadian dime.
My best ever coin reject jackpot.

Making my first penny dump for the year at my dump bank yesterday, it jammed around $240. When the teller came around to help me out, he opened the debris tray, looked inside, and emptied the contents into the trash. I looked in the trash and found a couple screws, some coins glued together, and a 2001 jamaican 20 dollar coin. I have no shame so I retrieved it and proceeded to look it up when I returned to my truck. Best I could find is it's worth a whopping 12 cents US. Oh well, the kids enjoy odd finds like that so I'll put it in their jar.

when I dumped my cull copper wens. I had a Canadian dime, a thai coin, a pizza token, a quarter and a 'gold' quarter in the reject bin. and I KNOW those did not come out of my copper.
assuming it was due to damaged coins. but it also gave me 31 nickels , 33 dimes, a quarter and 4 presidentials.. so I 'made' about 8$ .

Was at one of the banks in my area on Saturday - dumped some coins. Asked the teller - Taylor - to check the counter for junk (it is kept behind the counter in the tellers work space). She came back to the window, shaking her hand, I could hear something jingling.
I haven't gotten much this year from any of the banks I use, so I thought things took a turn to the better ... as Taylor announces "there was definitely junk in there".
She hands it to me....

The text on the 3rd item - maybe a key of some sort reads:
BREV Google says this is Swedish and means 'letter' - although I am inclined to think it might be a company name, based on the use of capital letters.
gettone per app. automatici commercio vietatoGoogle says this is Italian and means:
token for the app. automatic trade prohibited
The small 'copper' coin on the far right is from the Cayman Islands, 1977 $.01
Junk alright...

I wandered in to one of the local Wal-Marts last night (we have 2). It's been 6-8 months
since I've been in either store.
To my surprise, what do I find in the Customer Service area - a honest to goodness Coinstar
machine. Watched a couple dumping some coin, then they walked away - even though the
machine was telling them there were coins in the reject bin - which turned out to be a
1979 Lincoln.
I think I will be stopping at Wal-Mart more often in the future.

At the Credit Union this morning to dump a bunch of zincs. When I walked up, the machines
magnet had two coins starring me in the face. Both 2013 Malaysia, a 5 Sen and 10 Sen - which
I assume is the "nickel" and "dime" for them.

I routinely check coinstar return trays. Yesterday I found if full, with 3 silver roosevelt dimes, and about 50 copper pennies, no wheat and no zinc. Since I hoard both silver and copper, I was pleased.

Grocery store coin star had an elongated cent "A Kiss for You...Hershey's Chocolate World.com". Only the second thing I've ever found in a coin star.

A couple of World Cup teams were trying to hide on the floor under the front of the Coinstar but I found em.
Brazil 5 centavos 2012 and Britain 20 pence 2009, both new to the collection.

Every time I go to Walmart or a grocery store I look at the coinstar. Done this for years. Never seen anything in the reject tray! You guys are lucky.

I rescued 90 cents in nickels, dimes and pennies that were left wedged in the counter opening by an impatient young couple. Saved from the ravages of the Coinstar machine!

I've found around 12-15 silver dimes over the years and 10-20 foreign coins. Also lots of U.S. pennies, nickels and dimes. But I never once saw a silver quarter or half dollar. I was beginning to wonder if it is possible to get them.

My in house Malaysia expert tells me they are called 5 and 10 sen (pronounced like cent without the t). no other name for them. Malaysian Ringgit worth about 30% of the US$, 100 sen to the Ringgit.
