Found a wild herd of Buffaloes today. 100 dollars of nickels sorted with 37 buffaloes and 2 war nickels. One roll had 8 buffaloes and a war nickel. Most of them have visible dates
16-1937
14-1936
2-1927
1-1923
4- unreadable

I am not sure. There 3 or 4 rolls that had 5 or more in them, but they definitely were not all in one roll and the rolls did have some more recent nickels in them

Go back and buy more rolls of other demoninations from the same bank. Maybe there is a tribe of indians out there hunting the buffalos.

Great finds! What is the value of having the Buffalo's? They are obviously copper nickel, but, do they have a huge following?

They are collectible; it's not about their intrinsic value.

Thanks- I figured as much, but was not sure how popular they really were. I did read online that there are people out there that actually collect the "no date" ones. Found that interesting. Also wondered if it was possible to X-Ray those to determine their "missing" dates.

Excellent score. Congrats! I once found 28 buffaloes in one roll, but they were all NO dates.
Buy rolls NOW while you still can!
