Just found some Canadian nickels

Postby Recyclersteve » Fri Jun 06, 2014 1:29 am

Was able to get a lot of over 300 Canadian nickels (almost all from 1922-1980) recently. There were about 10 included that were Tombacs and unfortunately there were abt. 10 or so that were later dates that had little or no nickel in them. Still not too bad.

Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

I started this thread when I found Canadian nickels for 7 cents each. Yesterday I was able to get some (only about 25) for 4 cents each- and this was from a coin shop.

My LCS sells them to me at face value, even the uncs and proofs. I pull 100's of them out of his junk bin every month.

Since the purchase at 7 cents each, I've now gotten them from two other dealers for just 4 cents each. One sold me only about 30 nickels. The other sold me about 325 or so.

All great deals especially the one MikeJ received as it was for a healthy supply of nickels. I love them because 100 of them weighs 1 pound. You can't get a better coin than that!
