Things You Are Less Likely to Hear These Days

Postby Recyclersteve » Sun Mar 29, 2020 7:03 pm

As you might imagine there are LOTS of things that are said far less often in these Coronavirus days than they were before. Let’s use this thread for those items. Some will be downright funny. Others might be interesting, but not as funny. I will have much more later, but here is one to start:

“I’m sorry sir. This event is all sold out.”

What else can everyone come up with?
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

Please note that ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- sometimes substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) as well.

It is currently a half hour wait for a table.
Would you like to wait in the bar area?
we'll call you when your table is ready.

Wow- I thought there would be more replies. Here are some other possibilities:

1) Are you gonna help us TP Mr. Jones' house later tonight?
2) Gotta go. I need to pull an all-nighter for my exam tomorrow.
3) Gimme five!
4) (When someone doesn't finish their meal) Are you done with that?
5) I'm telling you- that band sounded just as good in person as they did on my record player back in the day.
6) I hate those big greedy energy companies. Gas is such a ripoff!
7) Congratulations- let me be the first to shake your hand!
8) Sorry I'm late- I got stuck in traffic.
9) That game last night was one of the most exciting I've ever seen.

Now maybe that will get the juices flowing. If I can think of this many in just a few minutes, surely there have got to be some great ones yet to be added by the masses.
