Political Cliches

Postby Thogey » Tue Mar 04, 2014 2:15 pm

I think we hear them so often we don't hear them.
Let's compile some.

"protect tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans"

"make no mistake about it"

"let me be clear"

"kitchen table issues"
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

I still like
"the worst is behind us,"
"you didn't build that,"
"At a certain point, you've made enough money"
"Read. my. lips. No. new. taxes."
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

" what difference at this point does it make ? "

" common-sense gun control "
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

"Tax loop holes and give-backs to big corporations."

In other words; accelerated depreciation and depletion schedules which have been part of the IRS code for at least the past 40 years.
