What do you make of this Ebay auction?

You think the seller staged the photos to show some of the older ( ca. 1920's) cents as if there are plenty in the lot:

I would say you are right as that the Canadian small cent went from 1920-2012 but his her listing has 1924-2010 cents so they have all been looked over I would say.

seems like the King George the V and VI are lighter than the rest. they 'floated' to the top of the pile!

A lot of coins are in a bad shape and nothing is organized, so I would rather say that it is an ''accumulation'' than a ''collection''.

This lot is worth at best:

1$ for the two George's V that we can see
1$ for the nickels, dimes and quarters that could be present
20$ for the 1,000 other pennies (2x)

Total of 22$
Common sense should prevail if not, misery will.

A little generous there IMHO. A box of $25 face value coins here in the US would put out maybe ~25% copper yield. So, four boxes of pennies would maybe yield $25 copper roughly. I picked up on this auction because the seller does not want to say how much face value the coins are. I think we are seeing that Canadian coins are getting way over face on Ebay in many cases for no other reason than people think they are rare. So, don't toss the Canadian coins back into the dump pile sorters. You can probably find a buyer on Ebay, especially if you have cents to sell in a bulk mystery lot.
