I'm suspicious myself... not of the roll, but of the amount of the bids. When the identity is protected like that, how simple would it be to shill bid it up??? :?

The last 1-cent 2012 roll sold for $ 6,798.66

In February, the Royal Canadian Mint has announced the sale the 20,000 last rolls 2012 1-cent coins for $ 9.95.

Each roll identifed by a number from 1 to 20 000 are sold out. On March 3, after 87 bids, the roll identifed as the 20 000th was sold for nearly $ 6,800.

I still say the 20,000'th roll sold CHEAP. Were that a US roll of the same type I would expect $250,000 or more.

Funny story - it was a local buddy of mine who sold that roll to that seller.
He didn't check the serial numbers (it was a large lot) and sold it to him for 20 bucks a roll!
Needless to say, he is extrememly upset at his mistake.

most rolls are only bringing in $40-$50.00, which is still high for $0.50 worth of pennies.
