Canada's 5-Cent Could Be Next

At the time Canada was introducing its $1 and $2 coins at the expense of bank notes of the same denominations there was talk of a circulating $5 coin being added to the mix. Canada is still waiting for this $5 coin, however now the talk has turned to the possible elimination of the 5-cent coin to follow the recent demise of the cent.....

An interesting article. I agree that if the nickel goes, it makes sense to have a 20-cent coin rather than a quarter. That way rounding is consistently done to the nearest 10 cents rather than either 10 or 5. But I really don't see a total currency reform occuring, so the nickel will probably remain for a long time, maybe for ever (that is, until an eventual cashless society). I'm glad that even a cashless society advocate thinks that cash will still be around for another 50 years. I hope it's at least that long.

Also, lol at Vladimir Lenon, Pol Pot, and Denmark.

Or, they could remove the five cent and the quarter, and produce more halves.

The dime and the halves would become the old penny and nickel, straight up 10x devaluation and proper coin sizes as well.
