2022 COINS FIRST TO FIND

I just read that the Maya Angelou quarter will be released the end of January or the beginning of February so I thought I had better get this thread up before someone finds one! I enjoy seeing where and when each coin has been found first, so I started another thread for 2022. Post where and when you find them and I will try to put date and finder in this first post. If you don't mind it might be interesting to know what city or at least what part of the country the coin was found in.

WOW! I guess I am the first to find a 2022 coin this year. Just got back from shopping in town and checked my change and found a 2022-D dime! I believe this is a record for me for the earliest find of the new coins. I believe that the dime came from Aldi as they always have new coin, but I also got a dime in change from Arby's and Coborns. Also got a $10 star note in change from Aldi. I was very surprised to see a 2022 coin.

Just got photos from my cousin of the 2022-D Maya Angelou quarter. His son-in-law got one in change yesterday or today in the northern Twin Cities area of Minnesota. At first glance in looks like a fake as Washington is facing right instead of left. They are out there folks! Who will be the first Realcent member to find one?

My OL just returned from vegas. I got a 2022 quarter. But she did find that the casinos no longer give out coin. Rather a receipt. So most just throw away the. Change.

El Cortez downtown still has a few dozen coin-op machines, nickels thru dollars. I think The Plaza does too but I haven't been there in years. But yeah, the Strip has been coinless for a while.

Not a first to find for the thread but first for me. In change at the local grocery store I got 4 2022-D quarters and 3 2022-D cents. Went to customer service and was able to purchase two rolls of each. BTW I made two separate purchases thats how I ended up with 4 quarters.

Almost went thru the first three months of 2022 with only a quarter under my belt, but yesterday I got a 2022-D dime.

Btw TX, do you know the quarter release dates?

I spent a little time on the US Mint website but did not find any official release dates. On the Littleton site and another coin site I found 3-21 and 3-22 for the release of the Sally Ride quarter and 6-6 for the Wilma Mankiller quarter. If anyone else has the official information I will put the release dates in the first post. Thanks! I got 4 more Angelou quarters in change today and have been getting 2022-D cents in change on a regular basis.

Wow I just about missed a first to find. I was thinking that the 2022-D nickel had already been claimed. I got a 2022-D nickel in change from the grocery store on 03-26-2022. I got my second one in change yesterday.
