49 days have come and gone since last we left our wheatie challenge...so it's update time!

A trio of wheats were among a 16-coin CS haul today. Dates? 1934, 1941, 1941-S.

While it's zilch in the hole-filler department, cool to find nevertheless.

Btw, I found an extra 27-S & 28-S elsewhere in my collection, so I added them to the book and removed them from the main unfound list. It brings the number of empty holes down to 32. Everyone's picks are still intact.

1956-D received in change today. Not a hole-filler but always great to be handed a collectible.

Check out this beauty! 80 years old and she looks better than some 5-year-old zincolns.

Coinstar comes thru!

Yep, after 204 days I finally fill another hole, and it's the 9th most common wheatie by mintage figures. No winner this round, so all current choices will remain intact unless I hear different. As always, open call for more guesses from anyone who wants to participate. Let's hope it's not the last one we find this year.

A mere 29 days after the 1939-S received its place of honor in my Whitman folder, another joins the ranks.

Coinstar gives up another hole filler today and at 99 million, the 1947-S was a top five contender that went unchosen. So the ranks tighten amongst the guessers. Hopefully one of you emerges victorious in the near future.

We have a winnah!!

Bragging rights goes to sparechange for his choice of a 1950-S, which crossed my palm at work today. It was once again 29 days between discoveries, a trend that hopefully will continue.

All choices have now been deleted, so it's open season to pick another horse. Get in there before the good ones are gone!

I predict you’ll find a ‘31-S. Might as well think big. I’m rooting for ya! Maybe you’ll find one of those coin drops and find even something better than a ‘31-S!

Friend sold me over $250 in change that her family accumulated over a couple of years. It was a great couple of days sorting.

Scored six wheaties: 1944-D, 1945, 1945-D, 1953-S, 1954-S, 1955-D

But none were hole fillers sadly.

The hunt continues!

Co-worker heard I like coins and gave me her late Dad's partially filled Whitman penny folder.

It had 24 wheats: 41, 41-S, 43, 44, 44-S, 45-S, 46, 47-S, 49-S, 50, 50-D, 51-D, 52, 52-D, 52-S, 53, 53-D, 55-D, 56, 56-D, 57, 57-D, 58, 58-D.

You'd think there'd be at least one hole-filler, right? Afraid not. Still glad to get them.

Coinstar gave up a 1918 wheatie today.

Great that it's a new oldest CS find for the year, not great that it predates the Whitman folder I'm filling.

Still thrilled with the find.

Once or twice a year I find a wheatie actually on the ground and it blows my mind.

Happy to rescue a 1957-D that was in my path to work yesterday.

Not needed for the book but it's a welcome addition to the wheat rolls.

First Coinstar wheaties of the year/decade made their appearances today - 1941-P & D - oh so close to filling a hole in the book.

Yeah!! It took 117 days but here's the first hole-filler of the new decade. This 1937-D goes nicely on page one of my reformatted Whitman, but it came in an orphan! No winner this time unforch. How can the 1942-P be unfound all this time, while something with 1/13th the mintage turns up? Amazing.

All choices will remain intact unless I hear otherwise.

Two more found since the last update, but nothing new for the book.

1909 VDB :o two weeks ago and 1937 today.

1952-D on the floor in a grocery store today. Nothing new for the book, but what a disrespectful place for a wheatie! :x

1929 from Coinstar today, not a winnah. I blame the lack of finds on covid.

Took this from a Take-a-Penny tray this morning. I was looking for a shiny 'heads' up zinc to scratch a lottery ticket (superstition) but right off I thought it was too pretty to be a zinc. Always a jolt to find an AU wheatie.

Minor win on the lottery ticket...

One of these days I'll fill the 1942 hole. Is that day today? Nope, but another hole was filled a mere 281 days since the last discovery, whew!

Yeah baby! This beaten up 1935-D was a Coinstar prize waiting for me today. It was number 8 on the list, yet another winnerless find.

All picks will stay the same unless I hear otherwise. Haven't made a choice? Give it a shot! Why let sparechange have all the glory?
