Someone should tell them that is most certainly NOT what we meant when we said we wanted our dollars backed in gold!

one of the comments i found interesting;

100 years ago a production worker at Ford Motors made about $1300 dollars annual salary. Paid in silver backed certificate dollars and silver coinage.
Today, 1300 morgan dollars, made of silver, would sell for about $31,000.
and remember, there was no income tax in 1910.
Gold and silver are money. these "federal reserve notes" will be worthless one day
