Crisp 2 dollar bills?

I know you can get $2 bills from your bank or credit union....but does anyone know if you can order them new, crisp and sequenced? I ordered some a while back and forgot to ask!

Buy a whole bunch of $2 bills from the bank and you will usually get a few sequenced ones. I bought 40 dollars worth, and 10 were sequenced. XXX1-XXX10 :)

Normally the new ones come during the end of the year. I get straps around that time.

take a chance and order a bundle. ($2000fv). If you don't get some straps of new unc or the entire thing is not unc just dump it back and try again.

I agree if you order a larg sum of bills you are bound to get a few straps. Of you build a good standing with your bank the will actively search for things like that for you.

Ah. If only I had 2k just laying around for that purpose. If I did...I'd probably spend that one something more shiny!

I have $1000 in $2 bills.

1 bundle is in sequence pretty crisp (eg 001-100)
2 bundles in sequence pretty crisp (eg 001 - 200) (might be missing 1 note in the sequence of 200 notes)
2 bundles in sequence pretty crisp except for the first 9 notes which have one corner a little creased. Again 200 sequenced notes.

All $1000 worth are in a lower mintage sequence 0048-xxxxx (in the 480,000 range). PM me if you want to get more info on them. I can have a lot of pictures to show you what they look like. Was going to put them on Ebay this weekend, but I'll hold off if you're interested.

Just read this and thought I could shed some light as I work at a bank. The FRB allows banks 2 time periods, both towards year end, to specifically order new bills. Any bank that has a direct relationship with the FRB can do this. Problem is when the bank has multiple branhes they are not guaranteed the new bills from the the main branch that does the actual ordering. If you have a independant bank near you, ask the teller if this is something they can can order for you; I know my bank will do this for our customers.

It's getting close to the end of the year. I may have to order just a few crisp new ones, just for collector's sake. I wonder if they will really be worth anything in the future, besides face value.
