Teller's Drawer

Postby OtusLotus » Tue Jun 12, 2012 4:22 pm

So I went to a bank on my normal route, and was getting a roll and some bills when I peaked in the teller's drawer and noticed a $5 red seal.

I asked the teller if I could have it, so he took it out of his drawer and placed it on the counter, revealing another $5 red seal.

So, I asked the teller for that one too...and when he picked that one up, it revealed a $5 blue seal...

So I told the teller I would take the whole stack!

4 $5 red seals...
2 $5 silver certs
1 $20 1934

Like I always said... it pays to look in the tellers' drawers... :D

I think that they go for about the same.. with the higher denominations
carrying a higher premium...and of course condition matters!

I have a few tellers save me all the old "small face" bills that they get. I always take what they have and save the good ones. The beat up ones get a wheresgeorge.com stamp and back out into the world they go.

I only marked one red seal to see what would happen. Never heard from it again. Got plenty of hits (including one in Australia) on FRN $2's.
