Beautiful Bronze

About time we (a copper forum) started this one back up. Please feel free to comment on and add photos of beautiful, unique, or just plain cool copper coinage from around the globe as you see fit.

I’ll go first.

Glad to see this one making a comeback. I was just thinking about this the other day. Always was one of my favorite threads.

Time for a resurrection. 56 grams of bronze awesomeness. 1797 British two pence.

By far my favorite thread from old RC.
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

Holy cow, really? Shucks. I really liked it too.
Well, if you fellas will help get me started again, can we use this thread instead:

I will organize whatever pictures get added - by anyone - on its first page.

Time to bring back a great old thread. Post your favorite bronze or copper coins. I recently picked up a Japanese 2 Sen. I believe it’s from 1877(year 10), still figuring out the date system.

correct on the date and year.
Also, the dragon has 'V'-shaped scales, making it a KM Y#18.2

I think I remember a story about 1828 half cents, that a keg of them were found later in the 19th century and that’s why there are a few more around and in better condition.

Thank You, I’ve had that half cent a long time. I bought it with some birthday money in 1979. If I remember right the purchase price was around $30.
