Copper keeps falling. Anyone have turned any in to the scrap yard lately? I used to buy power cords at yard and church sales but as #2 insulated wire prices keep falling I can't justify paying for them. When I was getting $1 - $1.10 a pound that worked out but at $.78 not so much

I have a pile of steel maybe a small truckload. A couple hundred pounds that I'm kickin to the curb,
At 2.75 cents per pound it's not even worth handling. Just an eyesore.

Yep I am averaging $.04 a pound but that's separating steel prepared, clean sheet and such, so more piles as I do this...

I am on another scrap metal website and have seen places no longer paying for steel, you can drop it off for free for now...

dav had a freezer crap out. I just cannot turn one in 'whole'. I guess I get some kind of kick out of taking things apart. also seems that it is still new enough to me that I get to see 'different' ways they were made.

this one had the compressor on the top. a steel radiator on top. inside had dual fans and an alum radiator. another odd thing. the outside of the door. roof, back and base were metallic. while the sides and face of the door were not.?? now to find out if stainless or just brushed alum.

so I had to take the whole things apart. there were plastic 'gaskets' with about 30 screws on the long sides, 20 on top and bottom. that held in the interior in.
