The bang for the buck is finding coins. It's money right into the pocket with no further processing. I'm finding that the golf balls are the next best thing. Per unit, at 10 cents a piece, they beat the scrap metal.

2 lb 2 oz steel
15 oz cans
5 oz tire weights

6 quarters
3 dimes
1 nickel
7 pennies

34 golf balls

2020 totals

1 lb 7 oz tire weights
6 oz aluminum
13 oz copper/brass

$18.34 cash

368 golf balls

What do you do with all the golf balls you find? They lose their compression after a while and won't travel nearly as far as they did when new.

I found a place just down the road that buys them, I get 10 cents a piece. They clean them up in large vats in a warehouse and resell them.

So you've made $48.40 on golf balls alone while exercising. That's a pretty good gig you got going there, Tom. Tell the buyer that due to inflation you now want 11 cents each.

I watched some YouTube videos on golf ball hunting. The vast majority is divers getting the water balls out of the ponds. I'm not that dedicated!

Found a 1926 wheat penny and a $1.00 FRN in drive-thrus.

And my son-in-law set me up. I found a golf ball with "Hi Tom" written in black Sharpie marker. He was golfing at the course where I get the most finds and tossed it over the fence a few weeks ago. Yesterday he asked me if I found it, and I sure as hell did, though I was clueless about the message when I picked it up.

nice pickups there CrazyTom...I like ready about all the golf balls u pickup...I dont know I just do.

I walk 2 miles at work during my lunch hour...I have yet to find a golf ball but I do find metal of all shapes and sizes...yesterday a piece of steel that weighed 18.5 lbs. I drove my vehicle over to get it after work, I have only found one cent on the road while walking....earlier this year I did find a pile of 38 and 9mm brass in the street.

Keep up the walking aussamdad! It's the drive-thrus before they open in the morning that provides all the loose change. Between the golf balls and change I'm over $100 for the year.
