Unfortunately could not get in any rides this weekend.
But I still have a great road metal story.

I was driving on the freeway in a company pickup truck that has a ladder rack.
A flatbed passes me on the right and I can hear a banging noise. The flatbed
moves into my lane and is about 3 lengths ahead.

I can now see where the banging noise is coming from. On the back of the
flatbed a forklift is chained down. On top of the forklift operator cage is a
piece of sheet metal someone fabricated as a sun shade.

The piece of metal is flopping and just as I realize it may fly free, it does!
It goes airborne and is heading right for my windshield. All I could think was
not to swerve so I ducked my head under the dashboard as far as I could go
hoping the piece of sheet metal wouldn't decapitate me.

I heard a loud BOOM and no breaking glass. I look in the rear view mirror
and the thing somehow got trapped in the ladder rack but is still flopping around.
I decided to get off the freeway before it came loose and hit someone else, so I
had to give up on chasing the flatbed for a license plate number.

Turns out it was 10 pounds of stainless. I got $3.40 for it at the scrap yard
on Saturday. All's well that ends well.
Pedal to the metal.
