50.00 CWR halves & 100.00 BWR dimes = skunk.

But.......

While I was in line at the bank, a woman was at the counter. I could hear the teller stacking/counting halves and I could hear the distinctive ring of silver as she kept spilling them and knocking the stacks over. I could even tell that there were 90% and 40%, because she was having such trouble counting. I was nervously trying to figure out: was the customer selling the halves or buying the halves??
I was called up to the teller next to all of this, and when asked I stated that I was looking to buy any half dollars. Lo and behold, the customer was selling hers, and yes I would LOVE to buy all 24.50 she was turning in. We all had a good laugh, and I couldn't get them back from the teller fast enough!

1966 x2
1967 x2
1969-D x2

1964 x7!!!!

The customer was ecstatic to get folding money. The teller was glad to get rid of those cumbersome halves. And I was more than happy to make a 50.00 profit on 24.50 worth of halves!

Sometimes it is all about the timing. A minute earlier and I would have been ahead of the customer in line. A minute later and the teller might have bought the silver for herself!

Finally a good haul!

More like Thogey's widow's, daughter, spending what she found in dad's dresser/closet. The 1964's are blast white like they were minted yesterday! These had not circulated much if at all.

Poor old guy held on to those for 50 years and it probably took them 50 hours to cash them in after he cooled off. :D
